Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Essential Job Functions
- Design new small semi-precision mechanical products for manufacturability
- Design from white paper using FEA and Solid Works
- Work with Machinists during the development of prototypes and work with other engineers during the design and testing of these products
- Design Manufacturing jigs and fixtures and provide necessary design and other documentation for manufacturing.
- Work with appropriate vendors to analyze materials
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year University and 10+ years of experience as a Design Engineer
- In depth knowledge of materials used in manufacturing (stainless steel, steel, brass and aluminum, etc.)
- Knowledge of machining methods and assembly processes
- Considerable skills utilizing Solid Works software
- Strong Project Management experience
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to prepare and verify detailed calculations and specifications
- Ability to successfully complete projects within agreed upon deadlines
Manufacturing Engineer
The Manufacturing Engineer will identify and solve production related problems in the Machine Shop and other production areas.
Essential Job Functions
- Work with other Manufacturing Engineers, Design Engineers and other team members to plan out the machining processes for current and future products.
- Identify and solve production problems and implement changes
- Plan and conduct prototype and pilot production runs for engineering development
- Work with Machine Shop personnel to improve daily efficiencies, process improvements and efficient use of manpower
- Participate in various engineering planning and meetings to review problems, progress and schedules.
- Design fixtures and tooling as needed
Qualifications and Experience
- Knowledge of Machine Shop practices and techniques
- Experience working in a highly automated Machine Shop environment to include machining, grinding and robotic welding
- Knowledge of machining methods and improvements
- Knowledge of set up and maintenance specifications for manufacturing machinery
- Ability to prepare and verify detailed calculations and specifications
- Experience with Solid Works
- Knowledge of or able to learn ERP software
- Working independently while adhering to operating rules and guidelines
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to successfully complete projects within agreed deadlines
- Experience using Microsoft office products
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 3 years experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in a Machine Shop/Assembly Environment
